Super strain from NZ’s ageing population

New Zealand is predicted to have more than one senior citizen for every two working-age Kiwis by the end of the century, placing strain on the country’s superannuation system.
The country’s falling fertility rate – a common problem in other high-income countries – has also been raised as a concern, with net migration becoming increasingly important to grow – or simply maintain – the current population.
